You know what that means...

It must be MEAT DAY!

I am actually going to celebrate Meat Day where it all began - Leatha's.  My wife and I will be taking our visiting author out that way for dinner tonight.  His stop at my branch had pretty poor attendance; however, he saw over 200 kids at another of our branches, so his visit was successful.

Also, Mardi Gras is just around the corner - February 5th!  What does this mean?  It means that you need to get yourself a KING CAKE!  I would recommend that you order one from Meche's Donut King in Lafayette, LA.  Trust me, you cannot go wrong with a Meche's King Cake!

Only a full review, crom! Closeup photos, a flavor/texture profile, maybe a recipe, if it's really good. And of course some context, history--the usual. I know you're the Meat King, but I am Queen of Cake... ;-)
