Well, of all the problems to happen, part of our roof is leaking. This is something that the inspector guy said was fixed, but alas, it is not. Leaking fairly well at that. Luckily it does not appear to be leaking on the inside, just under the eaves, but it is close to inside.
Also, the MOLD is back. Back in large part to the fact that our old arse A/C is leaking and the drain pipe is leaking and it needs a new pan, pipe, etc (basically 400.00 bucks worth, not bad I guess). Home warranty does not cover it b/c it is a pre-existing condition that did not begin or happen in the 8 days that our warranty started and is in effect. Further, the A/C guy is going to put a vent fan in to keep some air moving under the house. Also, friggin mold/pest/guy person is supposed to come back and spray for mold to kill it and prevent it. DAMN mold.
What is the one saying that your parents said to you that you absolutely hate?

BECAUSE with a close runner up of RISE AND SHINE. The latter is something my dad would say every friggin morning before jerking my blankets off and turning on the light. RISE AND SHINE in a frelling sing song voice. I've always wanted to retort, "I'll rise mother freller, but you can kiss my arse if I'll shine." BECAUSE because I always want to know why and BECAUSE did not quite cut it for an answer. Just tell your kids why and they will be happy, at least I would have been happy if told why I could not do this or that.
I have been tagged my my friend Anjel of Darkness...
Firstly, the rules
Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
People who are tagged need to also post these rules in their blog.
At the end of your blog, you need to choose 8 people to be tagged and list them.
Send an email telling them they are tagged or leave a comment doing the same.
8 random facts/habits about your Crom74:
1. I am horrible with many things that are considered "manly." Car repair, around the house repair (something I am finding out about a lot lately, and "guy talk." Many of the things that probably make me work in a library.
2. I do not know all of the US states and I damn well don't know their capitals. Before we moved to Arkansas from Louisiana I did not truly know where Arkansas was - pretty friggin sad.
3. My worst fears are snakes and snakes. I hate them. Respect them, but fear the crap out of them.
4. I LOVE Vietnamese food - sadly there is none where we are now.
5. My favourite book/movie is The Hobbit to name but one for the book category. With movies my favourite of all time would be Highlander or Conan the Barbarian.
6. My least favourite food is beets, my favourite foods include pizza (cold), red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, various Vietnamese dishes, and the list goes on and on. I love all food in general
7. My favorite children's book/movie are Walter the Farting Dog, Artemis Fowl, The Children of the Red King series, etc...
8. A great hero requires great villains, and I've always loved great villains, my favourite villains include Riddick, Jadis (one bad queenie), Wormtongue, to name a few.
I will tag Neophyte Naturalist, Sixbucksamonkey, Unicorn Princess, Lightchaser, Prittypritty, George W. Bush, lauowolf, and Bookishly Fabulous. (maybe).
WOOT!
We are back up with the Internets. We can surf the tubes. Comcastic and all that. Cable is proving faster than DSL, but no way near cheaper. Then again, we no longer have a wired phone service, so DSL is not an option. Even got the old router of wireless to work so that me wife can play on her laptop's Internets' Tubes.
Aside from that, moving is done. We have lots and lots of frelling stuff to put up and find a place for, but overall done. Everything is fairly well as well. We have to do some minor work. We got a new fridge, but can't hook up the ice maker because the water cable will not connect to its proper place under the sink. The dishwasher's drain pipe snapped, but we have a home warranty and they should cover that. So, plumber to fix fridge and drain pipe hopefully.
We are being 50.00 to 200.00 dollared every time I turn around, but people tell me it's worth it to have your own home. My credit cards, I KNOW, love me at the moment.
Anyway, I should be back periodically to check up and post. Did you miss me? Me wife, Neophyte Naturalist, may also be back on occasion to post. She, however, will be doing more work soon by starting her PHD stuff, so time may not be available for good old Vox.
We still have the backyard to tame and it is wild as all freck, see picture goodness. More home pics I am sure will follow. We are about to head, once again, to Walmart or something. Good Night!
Well, we are about to dismantle this computer and our Internet service from this local will be no more as of this coming Monday, so I thought a brief interlude was in order until we next have service.
First off, moving is not fun, but enough of that. We have a house. Pictures, I am sure, will follow some time. It appears to be in good enough shape, but I guess one never knows until one has lived in it for a while to see the flaws. Nice yard, big, about the same a month as the rent we pay now, all good. Argh, I felt like I was going to vomit during closing and while writing that huge check, huge for us, but not for all I am sure. The days that followed saw more charging for stuff we need around the house - including a sofa (frelling about time for a sofa - yay!).
What I want to accomplish with this house:
We are back in AR until Monday as my wife graduates this Saturday. Will load the Uhaul Sunday and head out Monday. Happy graduation, now get to loading. Hee-hee.
Oh, and, FRELL you Uncle Sam! Gas prices are getting way, way, way out of hand, and why? Most likely because your stupid war is costing too much. Hey, Pres., pull out now and save yourself the embarrassment and your countrymen the frelling money. If you are from another country and think it is about time that US gas prices got jacked up, well, I will not say anything. I DON'T have the luxury of walking, riding a bike, or public transportation, so I need to drive and GAS is WAY to much. I say this especially when companies like ScrewExxon and FrellShell are making killings in profits. Pres. do something besides look like, well, I will not say that either as the Big Bro. gets his feelings hurt way to easy these days.
Cats should enjoy the space and the mostly wood floors. They will even have their OWN room. Yep, we will have a cat room. Equipped with their stuff and their crappers. Don't worry, their food will still be by our kitchen table and at least one cat tower will be by our bed. Did I mention the HUGE yard? Well it is. It is wild as all heck, but it will be nice once we get done with all the crap in it, literally (somebody has been dumping litter or something back there).
Well, that's all for now.
Quickie Update: Dentist was not bad. They only patched me tooth. Will ultimately have to get a crown.
Going to dentist tomorrow to get hole in tooth fixed, hopefully. Hope it is one trip deal, but I am sure I will have to go back again - we are cramped for time as it is. Anyway, I will be frelling pissed after that and/or tired and grumpy, so no posting.
Also, we are packing, packing, and more packing. Computer is next. We will probably bring it over if we close on house on the 15 of May. We don't know for sure on this yet even. Need to find out.
All in all, no Vox for a while. Have a good time while I am out.

Although now I think it is trashed, it was the most embarrasing. Trashed only a few weeks ago. Damn gradeschool!
Well, if you want to read them, go ahead.
Now that we are moving and I am between jobs, my last day at CALS was May 04 and my first day at LCLS is June 04, some things have started to happen. Everything was more or less going well.
What's happening?
- Truck decided to die on me and then throw up the check engine light. I had it checked out and things seem to be fine, luckily.
- My tooth, my frelling tooth, is coming apart. More specifically, it appears that a filling has busted out or my tooth has cracked. Good thing is that there is no pain, just weird. So, going to dentist on Thursday. I am lucky that I have insurance through May 31, very damn lucky. I think they will only pay 1/2, but that is not bad for an emergency.
- I am mortally and irrationally afraid of the dentist on top of number 2. It always hurts no matter what. I don't trust them. It has to be done, wah and sniff. It will be done.
- Money is okay for the moment. Everything will need to be paid soon and we have to rent shite and buy shite, but it's okay.
Nothing serious, if you have made it this far, as you can see. Just general shite. Shite that happens when it doesn't need to happen.
Good night!
Well, I am a little late on this post, things to do, places to go, things to do. Anyway, this past Saturday, or yesterday, we celebrated our three cats' birthdays. We know the age and approximate date of birth for two of our cats - Clyde and Kit. However, we are somewhat unsure on Ash, as he was an apartment cat before we picked him up. Clyde is 5 years old, Kit is 4 years old, and Ash is about 3 years old. I got Clyde in 2002 from my Aunts (they basically saved his little buttery life) right before Hurricane Lili, so we had a chance to ride it out together - good times. Susan got Kit from PetSmart sometime in 2003 and we got Ash while in Arkansas sometime in 2005. So, it works as 5, 4, and 3 respectively. We got them all around May or they were all born in May - we are guessing with Ash. As such, we decided to celebrate their joint birthdays on May 05 - Cinco de Cato. We give them a can of tuna in order to celebrate.
The report:
Clyde ate all of his and then proceeded to eat what Kit did not eat of hers. Once Clyde was finished with Kit's tuna, he proceeded to Ash's plate. Funny thing is that Ash does not like tuna, will not touch it. Sniffs and walks away - odd cat. So, Clyde was basically working on eating the whole can. Out of the three, he (Clyde) does not need that much because he is beautiful but obese (as the vet put it), but it is a birthday. We stopped him before he could finish it all. We gave Ash some other treats. Weird cat that Fuzzy (Ash).
There are pictures, but they did not come out well, so I am sorry. Here are some other pictures of our guys and gal. In order they are: Kit (the female and sweetheart), Ash (the nut-job), and Clyde (Butters, EasyBake, Bear, etc...).
Have you ever been ripped off? What happened?

Yeah, many, many times. Some big, some small. The latest was small but it still pissed me off big time. Went to the Popeyes mostly because SBAM was talking about chicken songs, which made me want some fried chicken. Ordered a 12 piece family meal with all the fixins - you know 9 for me and 3 for my wife. Paid for 12 piece. When I got home, we had an 8 piece. Most horrific of all was that we only got 6 biscuits - instead of 8. Frelling food service engineers need to learn to count past 8. I know it's hard but come on, count to 8 then 8 again, which would be 16, THEN take 4 away to make 12!
I told you it was small.
