It's been a while since I had some MEAT to post about, so here is some Sausage (deer sausage at that).
As you can see, we were at a loss for what to have for food tonight. My wife suggested eggs and sausage. It was I who suggested the waffle fries*!
So, what you have is two eggs over really easy resting delicately on some waffle fries. On the side, you have some deer sausage. What you do is break the yolks and let the goodness run on the waffle fries. You then proceed to eat the hell out of it - you know, before it gets cold.
*For those veggie people, I believe waffle fries are safe to eat in moderation.
**Notice the fine china...
I was a little more than shocked. They liked the book - The World Without Us. I did not think that they would. Well, I don't know if I would call it liked, but they were glad to have read it. It was something they would not have normally read, but were glad to read it. Interesting. I may have a more nonconservative group than I originally thought. By "they" I mean my book club. The book club thing is one of the only parts of this job that I am still not totally comfortable with doing. It is getting better. Next on the agenda is December's meeting, which will be a "free" read - read what you want. In January, we will be read The Creation... by E.O. Wilson. That should be interesting.
This makes a complete Nablopomo 2007 month for me - WOOT! The pressure is over...

Tonight our book club will be going over The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. I am not going to make any predictions, but I do imagine that it will not be looked upon favourably by my members. However, I liked it. I liked it a lot. Scary as all hell though. We, humans, have frelled up the earth - frelled it good and hard. Then again, without us, the Earth would heal - it would take a long time, but it would heal. Anyway, just so you know. Read the book if you have not - it is worth the read.
Well, it does and do appear that we have lots of smart Vox Peeps around this shouting distance. Edumacation via school or the school of hard knocks or the school of life or the school of FRELL school. Lots of schools and lots of degrees of degree.
Now, I want to ask you one more question. Do you work, currently, in a field that is correlated to your degree. That is, did you go to school, or not, for the job that you currently have. OR, did life happen along the way?
Me, you ask? Well my degree, undergrad, is in Criminal Justice and my grad degree is in Edumacation. Criminal justice was a way to be an athlete and still do okay in school - easy way out. Edumacation was an actual choice because I wanted to teach little punk arse childrens. I work in a library. You decide if Criminal Justice helps me there. Edumacation surely has, a bit. At least the level of degree...
Wife? Well, she is still in school. She is also a certified secondary teacher. I hope, in the long run, that she will be my meal ticket, as she will be a Professor of some type of Biology - warping our youth. You know, unless she wants to start asking if we want fries with that...
So, you, dear Vox Peeps, what is your input in relation to yourself, your job, and your edumacation? I know some have answered this already, sorry...
Just quickly. More will come today sometime. I more or less promise. Thanks for the response to my question yesterday. We seem to have an edumacated and opinionated lot here on Vox. Well, for this small sampling anyway. This lot also seems to know that not all edumacation is school based or worthwhile...
It is Tuesday after all...
I am curious to know the edumacation of me Vox Peeps and all of Vox. I can't quite get all of Vox, but my Hood, I figure, I can get some. Call it a social networking quizical. I don't really want to know disciplines or any of that jazz, unless you want to offer it. I just want to know how far you alls went in school? Don't be shy. Trust me, I know edumacation ain't everything - merely a foothold...
Me = Masters
Wife = Masters and working on PHD
You...?
Until Tuesday that is...
