So, we spent the money to go see Iron Man in theatres. We also spent the money on popcorn and drink and reeses pieces. I have to admit that I was not sorry to spend all that loot on this movie. It was fantastic. Downey Jr. was great. The rest of the actors and actresses were great. The props and effects were great. The story was even good.
I sincerely hope that there is a sequel and that it does not suck.
Go see this movie if you like comic adaptations. It is on par with the first Spider Man movie.
One almost feels as if stuff like what is in the movie is possible.
That's all
P.S. Reeses Pieces and Popcorn ROCK!
What was the best movie you saw this year?
So, here's a list in more or less alphabetical order...
- 30 Days of Night
- 300
- Beowulf
- I am Legend
- Stephen King's The Mist
- The Simpsons Movie
- Stardust
- Sweeny Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
- Transformers
Some that I want to see...
- The Kite Runner
- Last Legion
I am sure there are more in both categories, but one does what one can.
Bruce Willis made another one; Sylvester Stallone made another one; now Harrison Ford is going to give it another go; also, Stallone is making another...
Can it get any better? The new Rocky whipped butt; I have yet to see the new Die Hard (but will); now there is going to be another Indiana and Rambo movie? That's just too much goodness. Frell to you young Hollywood action star wannabes - watch the masters!
I had the movie posters to add to this post; however, frelling AT&T is still frelled. That is, our work computers and Internet access do not work hand in hand anymore - thank you AT&T. When will the problem be fixed? Who knows. You can't call AT&T because they are slack-jawed idiots. Anyway, one of these days I may put the pictures. Pretty pictures.
I liked it. It was steadily slow and creepy. The action got rather intense at times, but then it slowed to almost a real world pace. There was no rush. As me wife said, it would have been nice for them to go into more detail about the rage virus, but I can live without it. We don't need another crap factory type movie trying to explain the T-virus or anything like that.
Good movie. Creepy. Too real at times.
Heehee, wife if saving the dishes. Saving them from what? Well, silly, the dishwashwer.
I have to go load the dishwasher. Load with what? Well, silly, more dishes that will need to be saved.
After all this, we may watch 28 Weeks Later. Scary, or at least good, I hope.
Packers Rock!
The movie 30 Days of Night (2007) that is.
I am getting damn tired of seeing "scary" movies that are not very scary. I have either grown up and am no longer frightened by these movies, or they just don't make 'em like they used to. The last movie that truly scared the shite out of me was The Ring (we even tried to watch Ringu and could not get past 20 minutes of it). The movie The Decent also creeped me out a bit because of the way it was filmed and us watching it in a nice packed theatre. Everything after those just plain sucked. Don't even get me started on the Saw movies - shite all of them, but I will watch the IV.
Anyway, if you must go see 30 Days of Night then please do. Some positives were that the vampires are frelling cool, possibly the best vampires I have ever seen on the big screen, and it is sort of remote feeling. That's about it. The plot in general is just good enough to have some cool vampires. The acting ain't great, but it is good enough.
Here's to a movie that will scare the shite out of me again - any suggestions?
P.S. - No Freling Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, etc tonight because of FRELLING baseball. Damn juice monkeys and their stoopid sport.
P.P.S - I am cooking and we are eating Sausage, Red Beans, and Rice tonight = BIG WOOT!
How's that? Well, The Nightmare Before Christmas has come out again today via 3-D. We saw it last year in Little Rock and it made for some good Halloween times. Now, shite, it ain't being shown in this damn town. It ain't being shown for a radius darn near 100 miles. We are going to have to go to Baton Rouge, at least, to see it. Screw you Mississippi, screw you long time! Anyway, I suppose I will get over it. It just pisses me off. Hell, I can always sit on my porch and spit, talk about the weather, or spit and talk about the weather.
...classic pile of crap that is.
We have this at me library. I did not order it. It is a result of the standing order program I believe. We have to keep this behind the desk because of the nudity on the case and in the movie. Moreover, it is kept in a drawer behind the desk. Will it ever be checked out again? I can tell you I will never check it out again. Would I like to put it on the regular DVD shelf? Yes. However, the shite it would raise is not worth the effort. If you work in a library, you know what I mean. So, unless some movie buff notices it in our catalog, it is going to collect dust.
Was it a good movie? In my opinion, it sucked and it was quite disturbing. There was a ton of full frontal nudity with lots of penises, boobies, and vaginae, but it still is not worth it.
My Frenchman tasted like a shite sandwhich.
Good Day!
Good, good movie!
Watched two of them lately, Fracture and TMNT.
Fracture was not that great. Slow paced, not much drama or anticipation. Hopkins was pretty good as usual. Would not watch it again.
TMNT was fairly good and surprising for a cartoon (although I do tend to like cartoons). I guess it was more of a cartoon that pretends to be a movie. I like the Turtles, always have and always will. Here's to more from that franchise. I would watch this movie again.
However...
AND
Look an awful lot alike, don't you think?
